What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to begin getting to know one another, review what is bringing you to therapy, and talk through your goals, history, current concerns, and what support may feel most helpful. Your therapist will also review relevant policies, answer questions, and begin identifying a direction for your work together. There is no pressure to have everything figured out before beginning.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions, especially at the start of therapy, so you and your therapist can build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic foundation. Over time, session frequency may shift depending on your goals, needs, progress, schedule, and clinical fit.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. Reach out through the contact form to ask about availability, fit, fees, insurance, or next steps. From there, we can determine which clinician or service may be the best fit and discuss scheduling an initial appointment.

Are sessions virtual or in person?

At this time, sessions are offered virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Therapeutic Design Consultation may be offered virtually or in-home, depending on location, availability, and the scope of the consultation.

How long are sessions?

Therapy sessions are typically 53–55 minutes. Some services, such as therapeutic design consultation, may be scheduled for longer sessions when clinically appropriate or based on the needs of the work.

Who do you work with?

We work with adults, couples, and families navigating concerns such as anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship patterns, emotional regulation, life transitions, self-worth, stress, and relational conflict. Services vary by clinician, so please review each team member’s page to learn more about their specialties, approach, and populations served.

We are committed to providing culturally responsive and affirming care, and welcome clients from marginalized communities, including clients who are BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, immigrants, undocumented, bilingual, and those impacted by intimate partner violence, family violence, systemic barriers, or complex trauma.

At this time, individual therapy is offered for adults 18 and older. Family therapy may include children or adolescents as part of the family system; however, we do not currently offer individual therapy for clients under 18.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We are in-network with a range of insurance plans. Because insurance participation can vary by provider, please review each clinician’s team page for the most up-to-date information about the insurance plans they accept.

We will complete a benefits check prior to beginning sessions; however, coverage and benefits can vary by plan and may change over time. Clients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider directly for the most up-to-date information regarding copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and any plan-specific requirements.

Do you offer private pay or out-of-network options?

Yes. Private pay options are available for clients who are not using insurance. For clients with out-of-network benefits, superbills are available upon request and may be submitted to your insurance provider for possible partial reimbursement. Reimbursement varies by plan and is not guaranteed, so clients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider directly for the most accurate information about out-of-network benefits.

Do you offer sliding scale or reduced-fee options?

Yes. As part of our commitment to community care, we reserve a limited number of reduced-fee spaces for clients experiencing financial hardship, or impacted by systemic barriers to accessing therapy.

Reduced-fee availability varies by clinician and may change over time. If cost is a concern, please feel free to ask about current sliding scale or community care options when reaching out.
